Tan France, the Netflix personality and fashion authority, launched his first furniture line with Castlery on August 6. The partnership brings together 18 specific items designed to blend modern utility with specific cultural influences. It represents a shift away from purely aesthetic interiors toward functional living spaces.
Heritage and Functionality
The collection focuses on real-life living rather than hyper-curated visuals. Built around the idea that a home should reflect personal heritage, the line blends South Asian architectural motifs with British influences. France approaches furniture much like curated fashion. He prioritizes layering, tactile textures, rich materials, and timeless silhouettes.
The development process took 15 months at Castlery’s Singapore headquarters. France worked directly with the brand’s in-house design team during this period. Together, they selected materials including warm oak finishes, handblown glass, natural travertine, hand-carved woodwork, and 100% New Zealand wool.

Celebrity furniture lines often rely heavily on a star’s name attached to generic mass-produced items, but this collaboration suggests a deeper involvement in the design philosophy. Materials and Design Details
The Kagan Leather 3-piece chaise sectional sofa in Moss acts as a grounding, modular centerpiece. It features generous proportions and pillar-like armrests inspired by architecture. For seating, the Rumi chair reimagines vintage forms with a modern twist. This low-profile, chunky-legged chair offers a cozy, rounded silhouette and comes in Cream, Caramel, or Rust.
The dining area features a solid oak table measuring 225cm paired with Avan dining chairs in Lugano Moss. Storage needs are met by the Rava sideboard at 180cm, which also comes in a 200cm TV console variant. The Rayan floor mirror measures 120cm x 200cm, while a wall mirror variant is available in a 120cm x 90cm size. The Maya rug spans 153 x 244cm and uses varied pile techniques.

The Anaya rectangular coffee table measures 120cm and is built for relaxed, cross-legged conversations. It incorporates subtle, hand-carved solid oak detailing reminiscent of traditional South Asian patterns. Lighting options include the Anika table lamp, a stacked silhouette crafted from handblown glass. It serves as both a source of ambient light and a piece of art, available in bright Orange, Tan, and Jade colorways.
Additional items include the Tarin drink table, which offers a choice of a travertine top or an all-wood design. These tables feature sculptural silhouettes based on traditional turned woodwork. The collection also includes the Reya Drape vases, which are available in tall and short sizes. These kiln-fired ceramic vessels feature a uniquely textured effect inspired by traditional sari drapes from France’s childhood. The collection is rounded out by the Zyra, Haris, Sia, and Willa cushions, which utilize rich velvets and flatweaves.
