Ceramiche Refin has established its first showroom in France, expanding its reach in the European design sector. Refin Studio Paris, situated in the 11th arrondissement, offers architects and interior designers a space to examine the company’s materials and design approach.
The showroom opened in late June at 9 bis rue Auguste Barbier, an area recognized for its creative atmosphere. It highlights the company’s six decades of transforming surface design into an engaging experience.
A space built for collaboration
The studio was created by Ceramiche Refin’s in-house architects. It serves as more than a display area—it’s a place for testing applications, consulting experts, and crafting custom solutions. An entrance sign reads, “Every project is unique and its challenges inspire our work,” establishing the studio’s purpose.
The space presents the company’s identity through visual storytelling. Images trace its origins from the Salvaterra headquarters in Italy to its production sites, laboratories, and photography studio. The annual Refin Experience factory tour for designers is also featured in this narrative.

The layout avoids rigid divisions, instead flowing as a sequence of connected areas. A continuous wooden bookcase, covered in porcelain stoneware from different collections, leads visitors through zones focused on material exploration and design.
Hands-on tools for designers
The newest collections are displayed to encourage interaction. A materials library, sample drawers, and an interactive table let architects examine formats, finishes, and applications closely. The table uses embedded chips in samples to pull up digital catalog details when placed on a sensor.
A notable section is the Reliefs area, which features six three-dimensional structures. These pieces use light and shadow to create dynamic textures for walls and furnishings. The tactile emphasis continues with the DTS—Daring Art Explorations—collections, which merge ceramics with contemporary art. Recent work with artists Quayola and Oliver Laric has produced the Glint Variation and Metamorphoses Variation collections.
